🐾 From Science to Silver: A Journey of Transformation
I’m Pam, the designer and silversmith behind House of Dogs Art. After retiring from a long career at Genentech, I found myself drawn to a new kind of alchemy—one that transforms metal and meaning into wearable art.
My journey began during a 2022 sabbatical, when I picked up silversmithing as a creative challenge. What started as curiosity quickly became passion. I fell in love with the process: the heat, the precision, the storytelling. I taught myself the craft, spending countless hours learning, experimenting, and refining techniques until each piece felt like a reflection of something deeper.
Now, in my Oregon studio, I create one-of-a-kind jewelry that blends symbolism, celestial themes, and artisan craftsmanship. Each pendant, cuff, and ring is made by hand using sterling silver and natural gemstones—designed to evoke transformation, protection, and connection.
Every piece carries my maker’s mark: the outline of a dog with a heart. It’s a quiet tribute to loyalty, love, and the spirit of companionship. This symbol is stamped into each creation as a reminder that we are never alone—we are held, seen, and protected.
The name House of Dogs Art just felt right. For over 20 years, our home has been filled with the joyful chaos of dogs—loyal companions who’ve been underfoot through every creative moment. I truly can’t imagine working on a piece without one nearby, offering quiet comfort and inspiration.
House of Dogs Art is more than jewelry. It’s a celebration of second chapters, soulful design, and the stories we wear.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
